HB 1955    RELATING TO THE CORRECTIONS POPULATION MANAGEMENT  JDC
HD2        COMMISSION
        Expands the membership of the Corrections Population
        Management Commission. 

HB 2022    RELATING TO STATUTORY REVISION: AMENDING,          JDC
        REENACTING, OR REPEALING VARIOUS PROVISIONS OF THE
        HAWAII REVISED STATUTES AND THE SESSION LAWS OF HAWAII
        FOR THE PURPOSE OF CORRECTING ERRORS AND REFERENCES,
        CLARIFYING LANGUAGE, AND DELETING OBSOLETE OR
        UNNECESSARY PROVISIONS
        Amends, reenacts, or repeals various provisions of the
        Hawaii Revised Statutes and the Session Laws of Hawaii
        for the purpose of correcting errors and references,
        clarifying language, and deleting obsolete or
        unnecessary provisions.

HB 2414    MAKING AN EMERGENCY APPROPRIATION FOR THE     JDC, WAM
HD1        ASBESTOS PROPERTY DAMAGE LITIGATION
        Emergency appropriation for asbestos litigation in
        fiscal year 1999-2000. 

HB 2829    RELATING TO THE ELECTIONS APPOINTMENT AND     JDC, WAM
HD2        REVIEW PANEL
        Appropriates an unspecified amount to the elections
        appointment and review panel and provides for the
        removal of the chief election officer upon a showing
        of good cause. 


 
HB 1925    RELATING TO ELECTIONS                              JDC
        Extends from 120 days to 150 days the time within
        which a new election called by the governor shall be
        held when the court invalidates an election.

HB 1984    RELATING TO ELECTIONS                         JDC, WAM
HD1        Lowers candidate funding available from public funds
        for the office of the governor, lieutenant governor,
        or the mayor from 20% to 10%, and for state senator,
        state representative, county council and prosecuting
        attorney from 30% to 15% of total limit established.
        Removes ballot issue from requirement of
        organizational report.  Increases from 5 to 10 days
        after filing for office, deadline for filing an
        organizational report.  Requires candidates who
        withdraw or cease to be candidates to return private
        contributions to the donors within 4 years, and in the
        event of death, requires residual contributions to the
        Hawaii election campaign fund.

HB 2650    RELATING TO THE JUDICIARY                     JDC, WAM
HD1        Amends the 1999 Judiciary appropriations bill to
        provide operating and capital improvements moneys for
        the Judiciary in the fiscal year 2000-2001.

24 hours prior to the hearing.  When faxing, please indicate to
whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and time of the
hearing, and the required number of copies needed for submittal.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services
to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
the disabled), please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior
to the hearing so arrangements can be made.

Public Folder.  A folder labeled "Public Folder" containing the
measures and testimonies for the hearing will be available for
